Impetus to Invent

Labor being what it is nowadays has customers thinking more and more about how to automate. The more mundane the task, the more challenging the role to fill. Invent Automation invented a solution for a client to wrap carpet around a piece of wood. This wrapped wood is used in cat furniture as a place for your kitty to sit.
In this case, all the operator has to do is enter the model to be made, load the carpet and wood, and the machine forms the carpet around the wood, including corner tabs, and staples it. This eliminates the need for strenuous manual labor.

Problem Solved

Through automation, the wrapping and stapling of carpet around the wood was automated, thereby eliminating errors.

Lessons Learned

The variety of carpet used required a lot of flexibility in the machine.

What Was Unique

The clamping system and method of wrapping the carpet was very innovative.

What Was Challenging

Clamping the carpet and getting it to fold over properly.
